Five Outstanding Freebies
December 28, 2012
The 30,000+ sellers now writing for TeachersPayTeachers have created a catalogue of 70,000+ free items! Here are five recently posted samples that I have pulled from the stack just for you. Each one made the cut based on its quality, presentation, time-saving attributes, and student appeal.
Happy New Year!
These five word problems offer practical applications for perimeter and area calculation skills. The author has also provided a grid page for plotting the problems as visuals.
Boggle Word Game—Michelle Clapp—Western Australia
This teacher-friendly file includes prepared individual letters, a game board, and instructions for use. Just copy, laminate, and you have a nice resource for early finishers, group work, or a special game day. Suitable for 4th through 6th grade.
Fraction Pies Worksheet—Yvee the Worksheet Fairy—California
One can never have too many resources for teaching fractions! Here’s an attractive, eye-catching activity involving improper and mixed fractions. The author has tagged it for fourth and fifth graders.
Personalized Spelling Dictionary—Teacher Jackie—California
Five stars on this product! It has all the necessary resources for putting together a personal language arts resource booklet for each of your students. In addition to the basic calendar and seasonal vocabulary, the pack includes a page for each letter of the alphabet with a list of common words already entered and plenty of blank spaces for students to add words that baffle or interest them. A reference section at the end is filled with a variety of grammar and spelling rules, prefix and suffix list, and figurative language info. What a wonderful student gift to celebrate the new year!
Author’s Purpose Pack: Chrissy Beltran—Texas
This well-organized, professionally presented freebie includes wall reference charts and several hands-on activities for teaching/learning the concept of author’s purpose. It was created for third and fourth graders, but I think fifth and sixth graders would also enjoy using this product. 100% quality!
Please leave these hard-working fellow teachers a good rating and some positive feedback.
