Margaret Nominates
Five Outstanding Freebies
July 19, 2012

Another group of free downloads from TpT's finest autors for your 2012-2013 Teaching Kit:

Bingo Ice-Breaker—Tracee Orman—Illinois
A fun way to help your students get to know each other on the first day of school.  Students go on a search for classmates that can answer “yes” to questions listed on a “bingo card” and have them initial it.  First one to get five in a row, just like in traditional Bingo, wins.  Blank card included so you and/or your students can create your own questions for a second game.

Figurative Language Card Game—Barbara Yardly—Texas—
This product has everything you need to put together a card game that requires students to read a sentence and identify its figure of speech. The object is to get rid of all one’s cards and avoid getting zapped.  Kids will love both the game and the imaginative sentences that fill the cards.  6th-9th grade appropriate.

I give this one a gold star!  Students will love this power point that takes them through the process of using fractions to adjust recipe ingredients so there will be enough of the final product for everyone in the class.  And, yes, there are yummies to be consumed and/or taken home when the lesson is done.

Going green in the best possible way—right where you live!  Another classroom-ready, kid-friendly freebie from Amy Brown.

Fuzzy Frames:  Graphics for Commercial and Classroom Use—Graphics from the Pond—New South Wales—Australia
This pack of 7 colorful borders (png formatted) is Word and PowerPoint  compatible.  Useful for creating lessons, homework, tests, posters, bulletin board displays, folder covers, etc.  Lots of mileage in this freebie!
