Margaret Nominates
Five Outstanding Freebies
January 28. 2012

This 28 page resource is the most highly rated freebie on TpT.  Grab your copy!

Great Gilly Hopkins Quiz—KABOB—Texas
This set of twenty True/False questions, which covers the whole book, is perfect for teachers looking for assessment materials to add to their independent reading program resources.  This seller appears to specialize in this type of material.

Helping students see the difference between plurals and possessives can be one of the toughest lessons to teach.  Though this item is tagged for 2nd and 3rd grade, I think 4th-6th grade students will also benefit.  Definitely worth downloading.

Just in time for Super Bowl Sunday!  This freebie’s word bank of football terms and the attractively designed composition pages form a strong framework for some creative writing.

Voracious Vocabulary Worksheet—Lekha Writing School—California
This freebie is a good organizational tool for getting students to collect and analyze new words.  The introduction asks students to choose ten new words, but it could work just as well for teacher-assigned words.  The idea would be easily adapted to different situations and grade levels.
